The Words of a Hero
In times of trouble it's essential for well-meaning humans to cultivate their sense of Hero. After hearing him speak in this and a few other contexts, I have found a hero in the Democratic Rep. from Ohio Dennis Kucinich:
Send me your heroes, political and otherwise! Tell me about the people that you admire, the people who inspire you to put more into your life. Tell me what makes them so dear to you, and what you have taken from the examples they've set.

Lloyd Doggett also seems to be quite an earnest and passionate speaker:
Here he speaks about the Republican desire to kill the Estate tax (or, as they call it, the "Death tax".)
I always love it when Dennis gets fired up. Problem with DK though is that while he preaches nihilism in the war on terrorists he has yet to provide any substantive ideas of how one provides national security for the US from Islamic totalitarians. Yeah, I know a Dept of Peace.
I love how he gets all concerned about the $$ not going to welfare, healthcare et. al. He assumes it should. Silly DK. It's my money not his. But most Dimocrats like Dennis don't understand that at all.
Wow, I think its great that he isnt afraid to reference Christianity ...democrats are ussually too scared of that. Since when did being pro-war, pro-rich and anti-environment become Christian values -and showing concern about economic security, the needy, and health care make one anti-christian?! Jim Wallis has spoken out about how the Right has hijacked Christianity and for having the guts to do this he's definately a hero in my book!
Ohh, also, some other heros...George Lakoff (Im sure you'll agree Ryan), and Robert Scheer is pretty awesome (http://www.truthdig.com/...this is actually other-Ryan's god father, but hes awesome!)
Al Gore is doing an awesome job too!
Thanks for posting, Notr! I think the question is not where your money should go--you don't have any. The question is whether the billionaires of America, who owe their lifestyles and successes largely to the culture and infrastructure of our country, should give back so that our great country and our great way of life can continue. Most of them want to.
Heroes are everywhere in our lives. Some of the people I feel the most admiration for are friends and family. My friend Matt in particular has been a hero to me. In the few years we've known each other he has been a friend and mentor to me in ways that I hadn't realized were possible. My life is immensely changed for the better for having known this man of such intelligence, courage and love. Thanks, Matt.
Yeah, Dogget should be up there too! ...he actually makes me proud to be a Texan, which these days is pretty hard.
Genial dispatch and this post helped me alot in my college assignement. Say thank you you on your information.
